About Jan McGready Photography

Although now based in Turkey, Jan McGready was formally trained in the U.K. with many year’s of experience covering weddings on a weekly basis, ending up as the assistant to a society photographer, which gave access to some wonderful weddings.  Her philosophy for the special day is to get up close and personal with the bride and groom and to cover the unfolding events as if it were a story, or perhaps more like a fairytale.   Which it often is..

During the day the usual formal shots will be included, but Jan prefers to capture the many other unique moments with more candid views, when most people are unaware that photos are being being taken.   This gives a more natural feel to the coverage and the many special details are not missed along the way.   If at all possible, Jan prefers to meet up with the engaged couple sometime beforehand, to be better able to understand their wishes for the day and any special requests they may have.   And, of course, to get to know the couple themselves..
